Update June 2021
Excellent news!
Draft 2 Digital has added Bolinda / Borrow Box to their Library services.
Bolinda is one of the biggest services for public library ebook lending across Australia.
All authors need do is check the 'Bolinda' amongst the Library options (and tick all of them, as libraries don't all use the same services) and that's all you need to do.
Happy lending, everyone!
(We now have four big library lenders for ebooks - Overdrive, Bibliotheca, Baker & Talor and Borrow Box)

Update to the 'Get Your Book Into Libraries' book. August 14, 2019.
I'm getting reports back from some readers about a new development: The Lending Rights people are telling authors that their books must have a National Library of Australia registration first, before they are eligible for Lending Rights.
The NLA, National Library of Australia, is where every publisher is meant to deposit their physical books. This is through a process known as Legal Deposit.
https://www.nla.gov.au/legal-deposit/what-is-legal-deposit
The confusion comes from the NLA only seeing people making the deposit as Publishers, as this is the group they’ve dealt with the most over the years. We are authors, and we're probably looking for the 'authors' section on the NLA website. But we are also self-publishers, so we need to follow the Publisher information.
Make contact with the NLA through the link above, and if you can’t find what you need, email or phone them directly.
When you do send your physical book to them, you will need to make sure the information you send them about your book matches exactly the information you’ve entered when you bought an ISBN and filled out the information on the https://www.myidentifiers.com.au (Thorpe Bowker) website. Thorpe Bowker is the legitimate supplier of ISBNs in Australia. In order to get any Lending Rights at all, your book must have an ISBN, where you are listed as the author.
(You do not have to be listed as the Publisher, by the way, but if you are, you are eligible, as the Publisher, to get Lending Rights as well.)
When I first registered my books for Lending Rights, I entered all my information with Thorpe Bowker (myidentifiers) and then registered for Lending Rights, and they seemed to go through without an issue.
It does appear now there is an extra step people must take with NLA (I was YEARS late sending them my books, and then sent them all at once!)
REMEMBER: Consistency is key. Accuracy is key. Make sure the information against your book's ISBN is the same information you give to NLA and the same information you give to Lending Rights. If for some reason your book is listed as Young Adult with the ISBN, but then 'Rom-com' with NLA, it's COMPUTER SAYS NO time.
I will update this information into the ebook editions, but I'm obviously unable to update this into the existing print editions. It will go into the next print edition, as things do apparently change over the years.
Thanks for your understanding.
Love Ebs

Instead of giving you paper handouts (which kill trees) I've created some electronic workbooks to help you on the self-publishing journey. Enjoy, and keep writing awesome books.

Growing and Nurturing Your Author Mailing List
This first ebook handout is to help authors 'build a list'.
'The list' is your email list of readers (subscribers) who want to hear from you. Authors are often encouraged to build a newsletter list of subscribers, but don't know where to start.
The first file is a .mobi, which is what you'd read on a kindle device or a kindle app on any other ebook reader.
This next file is a generic .epub file, which is pretty much every other ebook format. It should work on just about anything.
